Josef Bauer (* 1942 in Rosenberg ) is a German chef.

Career

Bauer comes from a family of restaurateurs who have owned the Adler Landgasthof in Rosenberg since 1858 , a former post office from the 14th century. He did his training in the Hotel Bayerischer Hof (Munich) and in the Swiss parlors in Wertheim . In 1972 Josef Bauer and his wife Marie-Luise took over the inn. In addition, he continued to farm and rented some guest rooms.

In 1986 he started a more creative kitchen. In 1989 the Landgasthof Adler in Rosenberg was awarded a Michelin star . It was rated 18 points in the Gault Millau . Bauer trained with Ferran Adrià , among others .

In 2015, Bauer was awarded the Business Medal of the State of Baden-Württemberg. From the laudation:

The Adler restaurant in Rosenberg has been closed since October 2016 . Josef and Marie-Luise Bauer run the house after a renovation as "Landgasthof Adler - Bed & Breakfast".
