Josef Biedermann (officer)

Josef Biedermann (born January 3, 1929 in Bettlach ; † March 24, 2002 ) was a Swiss officer ( division general ).

Life

From 1948 to 1952 Josef Biedermann completed his training as an electrical engineer at the technical center in Biel. From 1952 to 1955 he was a development engineer at Autophon AG in Solothurn.

In 1955 he became an air force instruction officer . From 1973 to 1980 he was head of the command and control technology section in the command of the air and naval troops. From 1981 to 1990, as a divisional general, he was the chief of weapons for the transmission troops , director of the Federal Office for transmission troops and the Federal Council representative for coordinated transmission in the context of general defense.

As a troop officer, Biedermann was the commander of the Flieger-Transmitting Department 2 from 1970 to 1973 and of the Flieger- und Flab-Nachrichten / Transmitting Regiment 21 from 1978 to 1980. From 1981 to 1990 he was in charge of the army transmission troops and was also the army's chief of communications.
