Josef Bossart

Josef Bossart (born July 18, 1929 in Lucerne ; † March 24, 2009 in Bern ) was a Swiss politician ( CVP ).

Life

The son of an innkeeper completed a commercial apprenticeship in an import-export business. He also acquired the certificate of proficiency for companies serving alcohol at the Lucerne School of Business Administration. He worked for a federal military company and then for the Swiss Federal Price Control, most recently as head of department.

From 1977 to 1984 Bossart was a city ​​councilor in Bern . From 1985 he was a member of the Bern municipal council and headed the finance department. He was confirmed in the elections of late 1988 and December 6, 1992. However, after he was defeated by the Social Democrat Klaus Baumgartner in the second round of the city presidential election on January 25, 1993 , he announced his resignation from the local council a day later. He came before a transfer to the welfare and health directorate. The red-green-center alliance, which had won the municipal council elections, claimed this key management for itself. Ursula Begert was elected to the local council in his place .
