Josef Eisenkolb

Josef Eisenkolb (born September 8, 1821 in Lowrin , Austrian Empire , † April 1, 1899 in Lovrin, Kingdom of Hungary ) was a Romanian-German teacher and composer .

Life

Eisenkolb attended the teacher training college in Timisoara , which he graduated with honors in 1838. He then worked in his hometown as a junior teacher (until 1841), senior teacher and was elected Lovrin school director in 1875. In addition to church music works, his compositions include the lamentation (At the cross the painful mother stood) for mixed choir, Ein Herz ist uns gratiset (1890, with organ replay), Komm Schöpfer Geist (1890) for male choir and orchestra, a Kyrie (Vor Your mercy throne ), a Gloria (O creator, be honored) and a mass for mixed choir also the Croquet-Polka , a fast polka for a large symphony orchestra. Of his five children, Aurel Eisenkolb was also known as a composer, as was his younger brother Kaspar Eisenkolb .
