Maxime Bourgeois (born March 2, 1991 in Sucy-en-Brie ) is a French football player .

Club career

Bourgeois began playing soccer at a small club near the French capital Paris , from where he moved to the youth department of the professional club US Créteil in 2003. From there he was passed on to the AJ Auxerre in 2005 , with which he received a professional contract in 2009, although he initially ran for the reserve team. In addition to regular appearances for this, he made his first division and thus his professional debut on November 28, 2009 when he was substituted on in the 88th minute in the game against Paris Saint-Germain . This was followed by four more short assignments in his first year and three in his second year as a professional.

In the summer of 2011, the then 20-year-old was awarded to the second division club LB Châteauroux , where he became a regular player, even if this role was not undisputed. At the same time, he scored the first nine professional goals of his career. When he returned to the now second-rate Auxerre in the summer of 2012, he made regular appearances as in Châteauroux, but never hit the goal. During the summer break of 2013 he moved back to Châteauroux when his contract expired. He only stayed there for another year, as he accepted an offer from league rival Stade Laval in August 2014 and was able to switch to this free of charge. At Laval, however, he could not prevail and was not retained beyond the 2014/15 season. Subsequently, he initially remained without an employer in football until he signed another second division with the US Créteil in October 2015 .

After being without a club for half a year, a two-month guest appearance at the San Francisco Deltas in the North American Soccer League followed in early 2017 . The striker spent the 2017/18 season at the amateur club ASF Andrézieux before moving on to CS Sedan . In the winter break of 2018/19 he was then transferred to the fourth division club FC Fleury .

National team

In a 1-0 win against Poland on November 11, 2009 Bourgeois made his debut in the shirt of the French U-19 . Two days later he hit the gate for this for the first time. Two days later he played his last game for the selection and it was not until November 2010 that the player was called up to the U-20 national team. As before for the U-19s, he only played friendly matches. A 3-1 win against Finland on February 29, 2012 was his last game for the U-20s.
