Septimus Gottlob Bantlin

Septimus Gottlob Bantlin (born March 12, 1798 in Reutlingen , † January 10, 1870 there ) was a German theologian and politician .

Life

Bantlin was born the son of the mayor of Reutlingen and studied theology in Tübingen after attending the Reutlingen grammar school . During his studies he joined the Arminia Tübingen fraternity in 1816 . In 1818 he made his Dr. phil et. Mag. Art. and became pastor in Pfäffingen in 1823 . In order to pursue a political career, he gave up this office in 1836 and was a member of the Württemberg state parliament from 1847 to 1850 as a member of the city of Reutlingen . In 1848 he was a member of the preliminary parliament . In 1848/49 he was a substitute for the Frankfurt National Assembly .
