Josef Gehr

Josef Gehr (* 1958 in Ursensollen ) is a German priest.

Life

In 1989 Karl Braun ordained Gehr as a priest and appointed him chaplain in St. Johannes in Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate . At the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt and Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , he obtained a licentiate in canon law in 1993. In 1996 he received his doctorate in canon law and as cathedral vicar and diocesan judge and marriage bond defender at the Eichstätter official office . In 1997 he became rector of the church in Buchenhüll . From 1998 he was vice-official. Between 2002 and 2009 he was the rain of the Eichstätter Collegium Willibaldinum . In 2009 he moved to the Congregation for the Clergy in Rome . In early 2010, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him chaplain to His Holiness .
