Career

Josef Hrabal began his career in the Vsetínská hokejová youth team , for whose U18 juniors he played in the U18 extra league from 1999. In 2001 he was accepted into the club's U20 team. During the 2002/03 season he made his debut at the age of 17 for the club's professional team in the Czech Extra League . At the same time, he continued to play for the juniors, but increased his stakes from year to year before he was a permanent member of the men's team from 2005. During the 2006/07 season Hrabal was committed by Severstal Tscherepowez from the Russian Super League , for which he was active until 2008 and completed 81 games. He convinced the athletic management of his draft franchise Edmonton Oilers to bring him to North America. There he was with the farm teams of the Oilers, the Springfield Falcons from the American Hockey League and the Stockton Thunder from the ECHL . Shortly before the end of the transition period, he returned to Europe and played six games for MODO Hockey . In August 2009 he was signed by HC Oceláři Třinec , with whom he won the Czech championship at the end of the 2010/11 season . He contributed to this success with 12 scorer points in the playoffs. In addition, with a plus / minus value of +13, he had the best rating of all players in the playoffs.

International

Josef Hrabal played for the young national teams of the respective age groups from 2001, but was never nominated for a major international tournament. From 2006 he took part in courses, friendly matches and the Euro Hockey Tour with the men's national team and has so far completed 17 international matches.
