Josef Hummer

Josef Hummer (born February 1, 1901 in Gunskirchen , Upper Austria ; † October 7, 1954 there ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ).

Short biography

After attending primary school and an agricultural training school, Josef Hummer practiced the profession of farmer . In the First Republic, from 1934 until the Anschluss of Austria in 1938, he held the office of mayor of his home community Gunskirchen.

In December 1945 he entered the National Council as a member of his party, the ÖVP, in which he was to hold a seat until his death in October 1954. Within his party, he was the district chairman of the farmers' union for the district of Wels-Land and was also chairman of the dairy cooperative in that district.
