Josef Ikemann
Josef Ikemann (born January 30, 1912 in Castrop-Rauxel ; † October 30, 1994 in Ahaus ) was a German local politician ( CDU ).
Life and work
Josef Ikemann was the third child of the married couple Hermann Ikemann and Maria Schwering and spent his youth in the hometown until the search for a job in 1926 led him to the Dues shoe factory in Ahaus, where he worked until he was drafted into the German armed forces . At the end of 1945 he was released from captivity . He started working at the Ahaus employment agency and was head of the Ahaus employment agency from 1965 until his retirement in 1975. From the marriage with Gertrud Epping three sons were born.
politics
Until his election to the city council in 1963, he was an assessor or a competent citizen in various committees of the city council of Ahaus from 1956. In 1964 he was elected mayor of the city of Ahaus and held this office until 1989.
