Josef Isenschmid

Josef Isenschmid – Müller (born June 21, 1908 in Schötz , Canton Lucerne ; † September 17, 2009 ) was a Swiss politician ( Conservative People's Party ).

Life

Josef Isenschmid studied for his graduation at the Benedictine monastery in Engelberg at the University of Freiburg and the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich Law . In Freiburg, he was in 1933 with the work guardianship of foreigners in Switzerland and Swiss living abroad to Dr. iur. PhD .

He initially worked as a lawyer, but then joined the administration of the Canton of Lucerne. In 1936 he became the commandant of the canton police and in 1941 chief clerk (today: department secretary) of the military department (today: security department).

In 1955 he was elected to the government council of the Canton of Lucerne for the then Conservative People's Party . Until he left in 1971, he headed the military department. In 1960 and 1967 he was mayor (today: District President).

Isenschmid was a member of the AKV Alemannia of the Swiss Student Association (Schw.-StV.) .
