Josef Kaiser , born Josip Kaiser (born March 10, 1954 in Batsch , Vojvodina ) is an Austrian sculptor, painter, draftsman and coin designer.

After graduating from the secondary school for applied arts in Split in 1972, Josef Kaiser moved to Austria and studied sculpture at the University of Applied Arts Vienna , graduating in 1978 (Mag.art.). He began teaching at this university in 1980 and became its vice-rector in 2007. In addition to his sculptural work, he created a number of coin designs, the most famous of which are the Austrian euro coins in circulation.

  • 1994: Award of the Karl Anton Wolf Foundation
  • 1997: 1st prize "Euro", national side of the euro coins in circulation for Austria
  • 2002: Austrian Cross of Honor for Science and Art, 1st class
