Josef Kostelecky

Josef Kostelecky (born April 3, 1914 in Vienna ; † April 24, 1997 there ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). Kostelecky was a member of the Austrian National Council from 1967 to 1976 .

After primary school, Kostelecky attended a community school for three years. He continued his training for three years at a training school for mechanics and graduated from a foremen's school for mechanical and electrical engineering. He learned the trade of iron turner and from 1946 was employed by Saurerwerke in the hemp and jute textile industry. In 1947 he switched to the service of the Vienna Transport Company .

Kostelecky joined the SPÖ in 1945 and was councilor of the chamber for workers and employees from 1951 . In 1963 he was elected to the ÖGB federal executive committee, between 1964 and 1967 he was also a member of the Vienna state parliament and local council . He then represented the SPÖ from May 17, 1967 to June 24, 1970 and from October 19, 1970 to February 12, 1976 in the National Council.

Josef Kostelecky was buried at the Simmeringen cemetery . In 2001 the Kosteleckyweg in Vienna- Simmering (11th district) was named after him.
