Josef Lackner (born May 12, 1937 in Heiligenblut ) is a former Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and school director. Lackner was a member of the Austrian National Council from 1986 to 1996 .

education and profession

Lackner attended the grammar school in Tanzenberg / Carinthia after primary school, which he graduated with the Matura in 1955. He then studied at the University of World Trade and the University of Innsbruck and graduated in 1959 with the academic degree Dipl.-Vw. and in 1962 with the degree Dr. rer. oec. from. In addition, he passed the teaching examinations for commercial subjects as well as law and economics .

Lackner initially worked as a teacher at the municipal commercial school in Lienz from 1959 and in 1973 took over the post of director of the Federal Commercial Academy and Federal Commercial School in Lienz. In addition, Lackner worked from 1965 to 1972 as a consultant for Bechtel GmbH and TAL-Österreich GmbH and was commercial director of Lienzer Bergbahnen AG from 1971 to 1988. Lackner also worked from 1990 as the head of the association and chairman of the savings bank council of Lienzer Sparkasse.

Lackner was initially involved as a councilor in his home community of Heiligenblut and was then a councilor in Lienz. He represented the ÖVP in the state parliament between 1979 and 1980 and was a member of the National Council from December 17, 1986 to January 6, 1994 and from November 29, 1994 and January 14, 1996.
