Josef Martinek

Josef Martinek (born May 15,  1945 ) is a former Czech / German basketball player .

career

Martinek, who competed with the Czechoslovak junior national team in Italy in 1964 , went to Belgium in 1968, where he played for three years, in 1971 he came to the Bundesliga club SSV Hagen and won the German championship with the team in the spring of 1974. In the following season 1974/75 the 2.04 meter long inside player won the German cup competition with Hagen. Martinek, who was also known by his nickname "Joschko", stayed with SSV until 1977, after which he played for Bundesliga competitor MTV Wolfenbüttel and from 1979 for TSV Hagen 1860, including 1980/81 in the Bundesliga.

After his basketball career, he stayed in Hagen.
