Josef Missethon (born January 16, 1965 in Leoben ) is an Austrian entrepreneur in the field of education, work and immigration.

Life

Missethon studied business administration at the Karl-Franzens University in Graz . After completing his studies, he completed training as a quality manager and TQM auditor as well as a psychotherapist (systemic family therapy). In addition, he completed two further master’s degrees in the areas of organizational / personnel development and pedagogy . In 2017 he did his dissertation in psychology on the topic of "Values ​​in Leadership and Integration".

Missethon worked for 25 years as an independent management consultant in the field of personnel and organizational development as well as quality management. At the same time, he worked as a resident psychotherapist and was active in a variety of national suicide prevention activities.

In 2015 he founded the company Talententwicklung Missethon GmbH, in which he is still active as a managing partner. The company employs around 50 people and operates at several locations in Germany and abroad. In 2015 he and his company developed the “Talents for Austria” program, which runs schools for young refugees in Austria and prepares young people for apprenticeships in companies through language, culture and vocational training. In 2018, this program received the United Nations Public Service Award from the United Nations for particularly innovative projects by public administrations in cooperation with the State of Styria , as well as the Alpine Pluralism Award for its efforts to create a diverse Alpine region. As a finalist of the European Administration Award EPSA (European Public Service Award), “Talents for Austria”, in cooperation with the municipality of Trofaiach , was honored in 2017 as an official “EU Best Practice” example.

In February 2018 Missethon initiated the “Talent Kitchen” project in Graz, in which young people from all over the world are prepared in theory and practice for teaching gastronomy in a publicly accessible restaurant. In November 2018, the talent kitchen was awarded the “ Josef Krainer Home Prize of the State of Styria” in the integration category.

In the summer of 2018 Missethon started the skilled worker immigration program “Talents for Europe”, which prepares, places and accompanies young people from European countries with high youth unemployment for apprenticeships in German-speaking companies.

Furthermore, Josef Missethon works nationally and internationally as a speaker and in expert committees on the topic of values, migration and work.

He is married, has three children and lives in Premstätten near Graz .
