Josef Schäfer (politician)

Josef Schäfer (born June 26, 1902 in Niederhöchstadt , † February 20, 1994 in Augsburg ) was a German SPD politician .

Schäfer attended elementary school in Niederhöchstädt and the trade school in Frankfurt am Main , then trained as a machine mechanic and practiced this profession until 1935, during which time he was also a member of the works council. In 1936 he moved to Augsburg, where he worked as a controller, control group leader, control master and until the end of World War II as a control point manager in aircraft construction. After the war, Schäfer became district manager of the SPD, first in Augsburg and later in Munich. He belonged to the local council of Haunstetten , the district council of the Augsburg district and from 1962 to the Bavarian state parliament as a member. In the latter, he moved into Swabia via the constituency list .
