Josef Steeger

Josef Steeger (born March 23, 1883 in St. Hubert , Kempen-Krefeld district , † August 12, 1972 in Kerken ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 1946 to 1958 he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

education and profession

Steeger completed a commercial training after elementary school and then took some teacher courses at the Agricultural University in Bonn. He was then employed as the manager of the St. Hubert savings and loan fund.

politics

From 1919 to 1933, as a member of the German Center Party , he was a member of the St. Hubert municipal council. After the Second World War he became a member of the CDU, of which he became a board member in the Kempen-Krefeld district, and he was also active as a treasurer. From 1952 he was a council member and CDU parliamentary group chairman in St. Hubert. Steeger was appointed in the second term of office of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia and was also regularly elected to the state parliament in the subsequent state elections in constituency 035 Kempen-Ost. He was able to confirm his direct mandate in the two state elections that followed, and he was a member of the state parliament from December 19, 1946 to July 12, 1958.
