Josef Tannheimer

Josef Tannheimer (born October 12, 1913 ; † September 20, 2002 ) was a Swiss goldsmith , artist and calligrapher in St. Gallen .

Various works of art were created in his workshop on Gallusplatz in St. Gallen. The Swiss one and two rappers have been minted according to his designs since 1948 . Josef Tannheimer became known through the "Quellenbüchlein", which was published over the years by the Quellen-Verlag in St. Gallen. Josef Tannheimer designed the texts and, in the monastic tradition, drawings and initials. Tannheimer was politically active as a member of the St. Gallen city parliament.
