Josef Ullrich (composer)
Josef Ullrich (born September 27, 1911 in Pilsen , † 1976 ) was a Bohemian composer and military musician .
Career
Ullrich received his musical training at the Military Music School in Prague and at the Prague Conservatory with Otakar Ševčík and František Pícha. Then he worked as a military musician.
Ullrich became famous for his march of the town of Pisek ( Písecký pochod ), which can be found today as the astronaut march in the repertoire of numerous music bands. In addition, he composed other marches and dances. This includes you gave me in May red roses , the Spartacus March , the march of the Castle Guard ( Pochod hradní stráže ) and Small Grammophon / Mitrovická .
