Josef Wilhelm Manger
Josef Wilhelm Manger , mostly Josef W. Manger, (* 1929 in Arnstein ; † October 27, 2016 ) was an acoustics developer and entrepreneur.
He led groundbreaking studies by, among other things, the importance of the phase response in the electro-acoustic and the transient response of speakers and condenser - microphones . The most outstanding part of his work was the development of the bionic Manger sound transducer that works according to the bending wave principle . He was awarded the Rudolf Diesel Medal (1982) and the Innovation Prize (1996) for his work .
