Josef Wolfsegger

Josef Wolfsegger (born October 7, 1920 in Freistadt ; † October 14, 2015 ) was an Austrian teacher and politician ( SPÖ ). From 1961 to 1973 he was a member of the Upper Austrian Landtag .

Life

Josef Wolfsegger first attended elementary school in Pregarten , then secondary school and the teacher training college in Linz . In 1940 he was called up for military service and was taken prisoner of war, from which he returned in 1946. Then Wolfegger was a primary school teacher in Freistadt, Gallneukirchen and Molln , where he also became primary school director in 1967. In 1981 he retired.

Wolfsegger had been married since 1941; he had three children with his wife Hedwig.

Political activity

In 1948 Wolfsegger became a member of the SPÖ and the trade union. From 1949 to 1974 he was mayor of the municipality of Molln and from 1961 to 1973 a member of the Upper Austrian state parliament, where he was a member of the committees for internal affairs, public welfare, economic affairs as well as for schools, culture and sport.
