Josef Zotti

Josef Zotti (born June 24, 1882 in Borgo Valsugana , Austria-Hungary , † November 3, 1953 in Vienna ) was an Austrian architect who designed numerous Viennese buildings. His projects include residential and commercial buildings as well as public and industrial buildings as well as interior design.

biography

Josef Zoffi enjoyed extensive professional training in Bolzano and Merano. He then received a scholarship with which he continued his education in Vienna. There he attended the technical college for furniture and building joinery of the Technological Trade Museum . Then he was a student of the renowned architect Josef Hoffmann at the arts and crafts school. At first Zotti tried to work with fabrics and ceramics, later he designed wicker furniture, which established itself as branded products of the Prag Rudniker Korbwaren-Fabrication brand in Central Europe. Zotti's design was characterized by paneling and turned furniture that can be seen in his interiors. From his marriage to Adele Fabrynska, the sons Joseph jun. (1909–1990) and Alois (* 1911). His interest in the research of the chemist Wilhelm Ostwald in the field of color standardization for industry provided a springboard for his career as a lecturer throughout Austria . Towards the end of the 1930s, Zotti largely withdrew and died in Vienna at the age of 71.
