Josefa Andrés Barea
Josefa Andrés Barea (born February 17, 1958 in Burjassot ) is a Spanish politician ( PSOE ) and member of the European Parliament .
After graduating as a nurse in 1978, Andrés Barea worked as a state sub-inspector in health care from 1991. In 1993 she completed a master's degree in quality control. At the same time, she was politically and unionized at an early age. From 1977 she was a city councilor, in 1980 she became a member of the executive committee of the UGT union , which is closely related to the PSOE.
In 1999 Andrés Barea was elected to the Valencia Regional Parliament. She was a member of this until the 2009 European elections , in which she won a seat in the European Parliament. Like all PSOE members, she joined the social democratic group S&D . She is a member of the Fisheries Committee .
