Josefine Schalk

Josefine Schalk (born November 6, 1850 in Trier , † October 24, 1919 in Kronberg im Taunus ) was a German painter.

Schalk was at the Städel Art Institute a . a. the pupil of the drawing teacher Heinrich Hasselhorst . Through his advocacy, Schalk later made the acquaintance of Anton Burger in Kronberg im Taunus .

After years in and around Munich , she came to Kronberg in 1902, where she made friends with the painter Fritz Wucherer and his family. From 1912 on, she also lived with his family. Inspired by usurers, but also by other painters, Schalk soon joined the local painters' colony .

Josefine Schalk died in 1919 at the age of 69.
