Joseph Carl Theodor Wolfskehl
Joseph Carl Theodor Wolfskehl , first name: Carl (born on August 3, 1814 in Darmstadt ; died on July 21, 1863 there ) was a German merchant and banker.
Life
Carl Wolfskehl was born in 1814 as the son of the cloth and yard goods dealer and later court banker Heyum Wolfskehl and his wife Karoline (Kehlchen). Braunfels (1777–1872) born in Darmstadt. In 1839 Carl Wolfskehl received civil rights in Darmstadt. From 1845 there was a banking house Heyum Wolfskehl & Sohn in Darmstadt , which had its headquarters at Rheinstrasse 4. Carl ran this bank together with his father Heyum until his early death in 1863.
Like his father Heyum, Carl Wolfskehl belonged to the assimilated Jewish upper middle class in Darmstadt. His grave is in the Jewish cemetery in Bessungen . His tomb was created by Johann Baptist Scholl .
Since 1839 Carl Wolfskehl was with Johanna (Hannele) geb. Kaulla (1820-1894) married. The children Fanny (1840–1855), Otto Wolfskehl and Paul Wolfskehl emerged from the marriage .
