Joseph Daultanne

Joseph Augustin Fournier de Loysonville , called Joseph Daultanne (born August 18, 1759 in Valréas ; † January 7, 1828 there ) was a French Général de division .

Life

In 1775 Daultanne joined the royal army. During the Revolutionary Wars he was able to distinguish himself several times through courage and bravery and was also promoted very quickly.

Under the leadership of General Jean-Baptiste Jourdan he fought a. a. before Amberg (August 24, 1796). He later moved to General André Masséna's staff and took part in the Battle of Zurich (September 25/26, 1799).

After further promotions he fought valiantly near Engen (May 3, 1800), Hohenlinden (December 3, 1800), Austerlitz (December 2, 1805), Jena (October 14, 1806), Preussisch Eylau (February 7/8, 1807) and Friedland (June 14, 1807).

After the Peace of Tilsit (July 7/9, 1807) Napoleon appointed him military governor of Warsaw (→ Duchy of Warsaw ).

After the battle of Paris (March 30, 1814) and the abdication of Napoleon (→ Treaty of Fontainebleau ) Daultanne became part of King Louis XVIII. Even during Napoleon's “ Reign of the Hundred Days ”, Daultanne was loyal to the Bourbons . During the year, Daultanne resigned and settled in his hometown. Joseph Daultanne died on January 7th, 1828 and found his final resting place there.
