Joseph "Joe" Jackson (born September 23, 1880 in St. Louis , † December 30, 1960 in Polk County , Florida ) was an American sports marksman .
successes
Joseph Jackson took part in the 1920 Olympic Games in Antwerp . With the team he was three times Olympic champion with the army rifle in the prone position. In the individual, he missed a front placement over 300 m, while he reached fifth place over 600 m. In addition, he competed on the running stag in single and double shots.
Jackson joined the United States Marine Corps in 1901 and was promoted to officer in 1917. He served temporarily as a shooting trainer in the Marine Corps and retired in January 1932 with the rank of captain .
