Joseph Lumbard

Joseph EB Lumbard (* 1969 ) is an American scholar of Islam .

Lumbard studied at George Washington University (BA and MA) and Yale University , where he received his doctorate. He teaches at Brandeis University in Massachusetts .

He is one of the Fellows of the Royal Aal al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought (Royal Aal al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought).

Lumbard is one of the editors of the 2015 HarperCollins Study Quran .

He was one of the 138 signatories of the open letter a common word between us and you ( Engl. A Common Word Between Us and You ), the personalities of Islam to "leaders of Christian churches everywhere" (Engl. "Leaders of Christian Churches, everywhere ... ") (October 13, 2007).
