Joseph Maria Boos (born May 25, 1909 in Cologne , † October 29, 1978 ) was a German Roman Catholic prelate .

Life

Joseph Maria Boos was a pastor abroad for the Archdiocese of Cologne . He worked for the German-speaking Catholic community in Barcelona and from 1941 to 1955 its rector in Damas Negras in Barcelona. In 1956 he followed Father José Alto Ziegenaus OSB to Caracas , where he was initially a pastor, later the first official spiritual rector in the office of the Catholic German-speaking Community in Venezuela. In 1962 he was appointed Knight of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem by Cardinal Grand Master Eugène Cardinal Tisserant and on December 15, 1962 in Cologne by Lorenz Jaeger , Grand Prior of the German Lieutenancy, and the Governor of the Order in Germany, Friedrich August von der Heydte , invested. Boos was appointed by Joseph Cardinal Höffner , the Archbishop of Cologne and President of the German Association of the Holy Land , as General Secretary of the German Association of the Holy Land.
