Joseph Martin (organ builder)

Joseph Martin (* around 1740 in Hayingen ; † before 1807 ) was a German organ builder .

Life

Joseph Martin learned organ building from Joseph Gabler . Martin later became the stepfather of Anton Hechinger (June 13, 1755 - February 11, 1835) who also took over the workshop after his death. His best-known and largest work was the main organ of the Zwiefalten Minster from 1785 with four manuals and 64 registers , nothing of which has survived today.
