Joseph Pease, 3rd Baron Gainford

Joseph Edward Pease, 3rd Baron Gainford (born December 25, 1921 - April 4, 2013 in Marlow , Buckinghamshire ) was a British peer .

He was the eldest son of Joseph Pease, 2nd Baron Gainford and his wife Veronica Margaret Noble. He married Margaret Theophila Radcliffe Tyndale (* 1925), a daughter of Henry Edmund Guise Tyndale, MBE and Ruth Isabel Walcott Radcliffe, in 1953. The couple had two daughters, Hon. Joanna Ruth Miriam Pease (* 1959) and Hon. Virginia Claire Margaret Pease (* 1960). He inherited his father's title in 1971 when his father died.

Joseph Pease was raised in Eton and Gordonstoun , later (1995), already as an older man, he studied at the Open University of Oxford until 1997 and graduated with a Bachelor of Art (BA) degree .

From 1947 to 1949 he worked in the Directorate of Colonial Survey. He then worked from 1958-65 in London County Council. From 1965 to 1973 he was the United Kingdom Delegate to the United Nations .
