Joseph Theodor Wloka (born March 4, 1929 in Gliwice - Sossnitza ) is a German mathematician who dealt with functional analysis .

Live and act

Joseph Wloka studied mathematics and physics in Breslau from 1949 to 1958 with Hugo Steinhaus , Edward Marczewski and Stanislaw Loria, and from 1954 to 1958 also at the Academy of Sciences in Warsaw with Jan Mikusiński and Roman Sikorski . He received his doctorate in 1958 with the dissertation " On the application of the operator calculation to linear differential-difference equations with constant coefficients " at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg , and was from 1958 to 1962 assistant and from 1962 to 1968 lecturer in Heidelberg. From 1968 to 1994 he was professor of mathematics at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel .

Joseph Wloka's work includes 6 books and 50 publications on functional analysis and distributions , solving the tomograph problem 1953, algebra, fields of operators , partial differential equations , elliptic systems , Galois groups of ordinary differential equations and reduction problems.
