Joseph de Goislard de Monsabert
Joseph Jean de Goislard de Monsabert (born September 30, 1887 in Libourne , † June 13, 1981 in Dax ) was a French Général d'armée .
Life
Goislard de Monsabert graduated from the Saint-Cyr military school , the officers' school of the French army . He served in World War I and was, among other things, commander of the Algerian 3rd Division at the Battle of Monte Cassino (1944) during World War II . He later led the 2nd French Corps as commanding general .
After the end of the war he was in command of the French occupation forces.
