Sardhar
Sardhar is a settlement 30 km southeast of Rajkot on the main road from Rajkot to Bhavnagar in Gujarat , India .
Surname
The name Sardhar is said to be derived from Sardbnri Dhar , a barrier-like, about 50 km long and 12-30 m high basalt range of hills, which forms one of the main watersheds of Kathiawar . Since the settlement was at the beginning of the range of hills, it became Sardhar (head of the barrier).
Infrastructure
Sardhar is well connected via main roads 25 and 122, which intersect in Sardhar. The settlement has all essential facilities such as a bank, post office, gas station, police station and a local market. The most important buildings are Swaminarayan Mandir Sardhar and Kashipara Parivar Math temples . Timbadiya Farm House and Shree Ram Farm are important farms.
The refrigerator manufacturer Janki Refrigeration is one of the largest companies in the settlement. Shree Ranaji No Mahel 1975 is a property.
nature
The Aji River has its source in the hilly terrain halfway between Sardhar and Rajkot.
Population statistics
After the census of 1872 there were 2922 inhabitants and after the census of 1881 only 2805 inhabitants.
According to the 2011 census, there are now around 8137 residents in 1607 families. Of these, 3,878 are female and 4,259 are male.
3,567 residents were employed, of which at least 1,044 were owners or co-owners of agricultural land and 616 were agricultural workers. 91.5% of employees described their job as their main occupation (already employed for more than 6 months), while 8.5% carried out casual work for less than 6 months.
history
Sardhar was certainly ruled by the Vaghela dynasty and was in their possession during the time of Akbar I. However, after repeated raids, it was conquered by the Muhanimadans .
In the 1880s, Sardhar was known for oil drums made of sheet metal, which were manufactured in the local metalworking companies.
