Josephine Angelini (* 1975 in Ashland , Massachusetts ) is an American author .

biography

Josephine Angelini was born in Massachusetts, the youngest of eight children. She has six sisters and one brother. Before giving birth, her mother was convinced that she would be a boy. Therefore, the parents chose the name Joseph for the unborn baby . When the baby did turn out to be a girl, Joseph just became Josephine . Angelini was already writing for a magazine at the age of ten. She studied applied theater studies at the Tisch School of the Arts in New York City , which is part of New York University . Her focus was on ancient tragic heroes and Greek mythology . This interest is also reflected in her Divine trilogy , which is about demigods . She wrote her first book, Divine Damned , in eight months, but then had to wait a year before it was published in May 2011. Before she published this first book, she worked as a waitress . A year later, the second part Divinely Lost appeared on May 13, 2012 and Divinely In love , the final part of the trilogy, in March 2013. Angelini lives with her husband Juan Alberto, a screenwriter, in Los Angeles , California .
