Joshua Altheimer
Joshua Altheimer (* 1910 in Altheimer , Arkansas , † 18 February 1940 in Chicago ) was an American blues - pianist .
Joshua Altheimer was a constant companion of Big Bill Broonzy from 1937 to 1940 , but at the same time recorded records with other blues singers, such as Sonny Boy Williamson I. , Jazz Gillum , Lonnie Johnson , Washboard Sam and Yas Yas Girl (aka Merline Johnson ) . Altheimer is considered an important blues pianist of his time who influenced some Chicago pianists such as Memphis Slim .
