Josiane Kartheiser

Josiane Kartheiser (born November 28, 1950 in Differdingen , Luxembourg ;) is a Luxembourg language teacher, writer and journalist.

Life

Kartheiser studied English and American literature, worked as a journalist and later as a Luxembourgish teacher in adult education. She writes literary reviews for radio and the press.

She has published numerous books for adults and articles in anthologies and literary magazines as well as children's books, plays and radio plays. She did cabaret for a few years and continues to write texts for a women's ensemble, but mostly writes glosses, travel texts and short stories in Luxembourgish and German. Her texts, sometimes satirical, sometimes thought-provoking, deal with social developments and the relationships between the sexes.

She is a member of the Institut Grand-Ducal , Section arts et lettres. In 2010 she received the Anne Beffort Prize of the City of Luxembourg.
