The Jostedalsbreen nasjonalparksenter ( Jostedalsbreen National Park Center ) located in the Norwegian municipality Stryn at the location Oppstryn in Fylke Vestland .

The Jostedalsbreen Nasjonalparksenter provides information about glaciers , landscapes, flora and fauna as well as geology around the national park. Around 325 native plant species are on display in the botanical garden. Typical rocks from the region such as gneiss , granite , gabbro , Norway's national stone the pink thulite and the stone from the province of Sogn og Fjordane, the greenish eclogite, are exhibited in the geological park .

The National Park Center is owned by a private foundation and was opened on June 19, 1993 by the Norwegian Prime Minister Gro Harlem Brundtland . The main building is built in the Viking longhouse style. Its size is roughly the same as that of the largest longhouse found in Norway. The cinema building is a modern structure made of polished larvikite , a stone found in Norway.
