The Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis (JFQA) is a bi-monthly scientific journal on economic topics. Her focus is on the areas of finance, investments, capital and securities markets, as well as quantitative methods that are relevant for financial economists. It is published by the Michael G. Foster School of Business at the University of Washington in cooperation with the David Eccles School of Business ( University of Utah ) and the Leonard N. Stern School of Business ( New York University ).

The editorial team is jointly headed by Hendrik Bessembinder , Jennifer Conrad , Jarrad Harford and Paul Malatesta . They are assisted by two consulting editors, Stephen J. Brown and Mark Grinblatt, and a number of associate editors.

According to the Web of Science's 2014 Journal Citation Report , the journal had an impact factor of 1.566. This made it 67th out of 333 economic journals. Another study by the French economists Pierre-Phillippe Combes and Laurent Linnemer places the journal in the third-best category A with 49th place out of 600 economic journals.

Prices

The JFQA has been awarding the William F. Sharpe Prize annually since 1999 for the best article of the previous year. The award is named after William F. Sharpe and is currently endowed with $ 5,000.
