The journal appeared since 1888 under the name Publications of the American Statistical Association. from 1912 as Quarterly publications of the American Statistical Association . It has had its current name since 1922.

editorial staff

The editorial team is divided into a group for applications and case studies, a group for theory and methods and a third group for overviews. Coordinating (chief) editor is currently (2020) Heping Zhang, Yale University .

reception

A study by the French economists Pierre-Phillippe Combes and Laurent Linnemer ranked the journal in the third best category A, ranking 56th out of 600 economic journals. In 2017 it had an impact factor of 2.297; 2019: 3.989.
