The Journalist Academy of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung ( JAKAS ) is a facility for the training and further education of journalists based in Sankt Augustin . It was founded in 1979 and is part of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation .

Promotion of young journalists
The promotion of young journalists is part of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung's program to promote talented students and trains scholarship holders in print , radio , television and multimedia . The program is designed to accompany studies. For example, the scholarship holders undertake to work as freelancers in the media sector during the semester. Practical training seminars are held during the semester break, and the training program also includes four compulsory internships.
According to its own information, the journalistic promotion of young talent supported 150 scholarship holders in 2009, and 800 graduates have completed the program.
