Jovan Perišić ( Serbian - Cyrillic Јован Перишић , born October 3, 1972 in Gornji Vrbljani near Ključ , SFR Yugoslavia , today Bosnia and Herzegovina ) is a Bosnian - Serbian turbofolk singer. It enjoys a high degree of popularity among both the younger and older generations in the Balkans and among ex- Yugoslavs living abroad .

Career

After appearing as an amateur at weddings and other parties since the mid-1990s, he released his first studio album in 1997, entitled Zbogom lažne ljubavi.

His final breakthrough came in 2007 with the song Moje najmilije, a song that is still very popular with younger listeners today.

His latest album was released in autumn 2016 and is called Snaga ljubavi .

While his appearances outside of the summer mainly focus on the ex-Yugoslav diaspora ( Germany , Austria and Switzerland ), in the summer he is mainly in the countries of the Western Balkans ( Serbia , Bosnia and Croatia ).

He is now well known in Slovenia , regardless of the fact that the folk scene there is considered to be quite manageable.

Jovan Perišić sees Šaban Šaulić as his personal role model.

In 1999, Perišić received the Zlatni Melos award for the best singer of the year in the Republika Srpska .

He is married, has two sons and lives in Temerin , in northern Serbia.
