Jovita Vedrickienė

Jovita Vedrickienė (born Žiogaitė ; spelling for the World Chess Federation FIDE Jovita Vedrickiene ; born October 28, 1984 in Tauragė , Lithuania ) is a Lithuanian chess player .

Life

After graduating from the Versmės grammar school in Tauragė district in 2004, Jovita Žiogaitė studied financial and actuarial mathematics from 2004 to 2008 and completed her bachelor's degree in statistics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at Vilnius University (VU). From 2008 to 2010 she completed a master’s degree in finance and actuarial mathematics. From 2011 to 2014 she continued her education at the CFA Institute and took the exam as Chartered Financial Analyst ( Level II ), CFA.

Jovita was a member of the Lithuanian national chess team and represented Lithuania at the 38th Women's Chess Olympiad (2008) in Dresden and at the 40th Chess Olympiad (2012) in Istanbul . In 2008 she took 2nd place at the Lithuanian Women's Chess Championship and became Lithuanian runner-up.

Her highest rating to date was 2093 in July 2008.

Vedrickienė works as a children's chess trainer in Vilnius .

Jovita Vedrickienė is married to the Lithuanian chess player FM Tautvydas Vedrickas.
