Jozef Cornelius Correns
Jozef Cornelius Correns (born August 13, 1814 in Antwerp ; † December 19, 1907 there ) was a Belgian genre, portrait, history and church painter.
Correns studied at the Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten Antwerp with Mathieu Ignace van Brée . After that he worked in Antwerp all his life. He mostly painted pictures on religious subjects, but also portraits and genre scenes. He taught at the Antwerp Academy.
Many of his works can be found in and around the churches of Antwerp. Some of his works appeared in the form of lithographs.
