Herta Fauland
Herta Fauland (born May 12, 1929 in Vienna ; † March 31, 2020 in Klagenfurt ) was an Austrian actress .
Life
Herta Fauland was born out of wedlock and spent the first five years of her life with a foster mother. Enthusiastic about theater at a young age, she attended the “Otto Drama School” in Vienna in 1946 on the recommendation of Oskar Werner . Her first appearances were at a student theater together with Helmut Qualtinger , Kurt Sobotka and Ernst Stankovski . This was followed by engagements in Bonn, Bregenz, Darmstadt, Frankfurt, Salzburg and Linz. From 1955 Fauland appeared regularly in the Klagenfurt City Theater . She has been permanently engaged by Herbert Wochinz since 1973 , she became a permanent fixture in the ensemble and was on the Klagenfurt stage for 45 years until her last appearance in 2000.
In addition, she also appeared at the Komödienspiele Porcia and took on several roles on television, for example for Tatort or in the series Ein Schloss am Wörthersee .
In the early 1990s she founded the first Carinthian drama school called "Odeon", where she gave lessons for young actors and speakers until she was eighty.
Fauland's three marriages, including the actors Werner Kreindl and Elmar Gunsch , all divorced and remained childless.
