The trolley buses (trolley buses) of the type Jumz E-186 ( Ukrainian ЮМЗ Е-186 ) were in 2003 and 2005 to 2006 Piwdenmasch in Dnipropetrovsk ( Ukraine ; today Dnipro built). They were the first low-floor trolleybuses from Ukrainian production.

The Piwdennyj maschynobudiwnyj zavod (Piwdenmasch) in Dnipropetrowsk took over most of the supply of the Ukraine with new trolleybuses in the 1990s, especially with the JuMZ T2 .

Since 2001, low-floor buses of the type MAZ-103T have been available in Belarus , of which a prototype was procured for Kiev in 2003 . The local industry also wanted to join this trend. Piwdenmasch handle this on by Ukrawtobusprom developed dual-axis body of the bus type A181 back who never came to mass production. The JuMZ E-186 was developed on this basis. As with the previous models, the type designation was derived from the company's Russian name "Juschmasch".

A prototype was completed in 2003 and presented on August 23 as the E186-01 on the Kiev trolleybus line 40. The door arrangement is unusual, with two double doors in the middle between the axles, each of which is faced with a catchment area inside. There is a single door at the front and back. The floor height is 360 mm, lowered to 260 on the doors. In the interior of the prototype there is a staircase between the third and fourth door; this was no longer necessary in series production.

The electrical equipment came from Dorelektromasch from Belarus, the motor of the type ED139AU2 (ЭД139АУ2) from Elektrowaschmasch from Kharkiv .

The prototype arrived in Dnepropetrovsk after a few weeks and was tested on the trolleybus network. It was then taken over by the transport company.

The Kiev transport company ordered ten of this type in September 2003, at the same time as 30 MAZ-103T. Series deliveries for Kiev only began in December 2005 with cars 4801 to 4805. In 2006, 4806 and 4807 were added. They were assigned to depot 4.

In 2006 three more JuMZ E-186s were built, Poltava , Mykolaiv and Krywyj Rih each received a vehicle. The JuMZ E-186 in Mykolaiv was delivered to Krywyh Rih in 2007.

The reliability of the JuMZ E-186 was not satisfactory. Therefore, production was canceled again in 2006. In Kiev, with the exception of 4805, all JuMZ E-186s were parked in defective condition until 2008, followed by 4805 in 2015. In 2017, only three vehicles were still operational in Krywyj Rih and Poltava.

The development of new trolleybuses for production at Piwdenmasch was thus over. The JuMZ T2 was built until 2008, and another four were sold in 2010 and 2011. This ended the production of own trolleybuses at Piwdenmasch. In 2013 the license production of the MAZ-103T was started as Dnipro T103 , which in fact only consists of the assembly of supplied parts. The leading role in the Ukrainian trolleybus construction took over the Lvivskyj awtobusnyj zavod with the types LAZ E183D1 and LAZ 301D1 in the low-floor age .
