Under the designation MAZ-103T ( Russian МАЗ-103Т , German transcription actually MAS-103T), also MAZ-Eton 103T , AKSM-221 ( Russian АКСМ-221 ) or SWARZ-6235.00 ( Russian СВАРЗ-6235.00 ) are or became trolleybuses manufactured on the basis of the MAZ-103 low-floor bus by the Belarusian vehicle manufacturer Minski Awtomobilny Sawod . The original vehicle was planned in 1999 and also manufactured by MAZ as MAZ-103T from 1999, in the following years there were several changes of manufacturers and names.

  • MAZ-103T: Projected at MAZ from 1999 and manufactured until 2007.
  • AKSM-221: Trolleybus manufactured by Belkommunmasch . MAZ supplied the chassis and body, Belkommunmasch installed the electrical units from its own production. Vehicles of this type were manufactured from 2003 to 2004 and 2007 to 2010 and delivered to the cities of Minsk and Brest .
  • SWARZ-6235.00: The in Moscow Sokolnitscheski Wagonoremontno-Stroitelny Sawod ( Russian Сокольнический вагоноремонтно-строительный завод , a wagon building and the same repairing plant 22 have been built since 2008 according to the AKS1. MAZ only supplied the chassis and the body, the electrical systems were manufactured and installed in Russia.
  • MAZ-Eton 103T: As of 2007, MAZ no longer manufactured any electrical equipment for the trolleybuses at all, production was outsourced to OOO "Eton". According to the already known system, MAZ only supplied the chassis and body of the vehicles. The only vehicles of this type were delivered to Brest in 2008. Since then, MAZ and Eton have not produced any other buses of this type.
  • PT-6231: Vehicle variant also manufactured in Russia for the city of St. Petersburg .

The vehicles have three double-leaf passenger doors, which should enable quick entry and exit, even for many passengers. Depending on the version, the trolleybuses are approved for around 100 passengers, with around 25 seats and 75 standing places. It is assumed that there will be standing room for up to eight people per square meter. Apart from the electric drive and control systems, the vehicles are otherwise very similar to the diesel-powered MAZ-103 low-floor bus.

Dnipro T103

The Dnipro T103 ( Ukrainian Дніпро Т103 ), which is identical to the MAZ-103T, has been built under license at Piwdenmasch in Dnipropetrovsk ( Ukraine ) since 2013 . Here, shell structures from MAZ are completed at Piwdenmasch. By 2015, six Dnipro T103 had been built and delivered to Mariupol , Krasnodon , Dnipropetrovsk and Artemivsk .
