The truck MAZ-530 ( Russian МАЗ-530 , German transcription actually MAS-530) is a large dump truck from the Soviet vehicle manufacturer Minsky Avtomobilny Sawod , which was developed in the second half of the 1950s. In 1960 the production of this type was relocated to BelAZ as part of the specialization of the Soviet automotive industry and it continued to be built there under the name BelAZ-530 until 1963.

Like its predecessor, the MAZ-525, the MAZ-530 is a large dump truck that was primarily intended for use in mining. Since the payload of 25 tons of the MAZ-525 quickly turned out to be too low in reality, the Council of Ministers of the USSR issued a regulation on May 17, 1955, according to which a three-axle variant of the vehicle was to be developed within two years. In 1957, series production was finally started.

The number of pieces produced has remained low over the years. Less than 40 vehicles were produced in the Minsk plant until 1960. In practice, problems arose because the payload of 40 tons was too high for this traditional long-nosed truck in conjunction with a conventional diesel engine. In 1960 the production of the vehicle type was finally transferred to the Belaruski Avtomobilny Zavod (BelAZ), where it was built until 1963 under the name BelAZ-530.

The vehicles had some technical features. They were the first civilian types to use the D-12A diesel engine with an output of 450 hp (331 kW). The rear axles were mounted directly on the frame, with the exception of a few rubber dampers, no suspension was used because there were no suspension elements available that could withstand the impact loads during loading. The most important suspension was the oversized wheels and tires. They were also the first vehicles of this weight class that were ever manufactured by the Soviet Union. Despite technical problems and small numbers of items, the dump truck is now regarded as a successful project in which a lot of experience was gained for later types.
