The truck MAZ-5433 ( Russian МАЗ-5433 , German transcription actually MAS-5433) is a type of truck from the Belarusian vehicle manufacturer Minski Avtomobilny Zavod , which has been in series production since 1987.

Technically, the truck is based on the MAZ-5337 , from which many components and the basic construction were taken over. Instead of a loading area or special bodies, however, a fifth wheel was mounted over the rear axle. In contrast to the normal version, an engine with a V8 diesel engine is also available.

In contrast to later MAZ tractors, there was no closer cooperation with western manufacturers for the MAZ-5433, and western parts were not purchased either. The engines are all from Russian production by JaMZ , the gearboxes are partly in-house designs by MAZ.

The tractor has a relatively weak motor with a maximum of 169 kW. Correspondingly, the maximum permissible mass of the train is only 25 tons, instead of the usual 40 tons for modern tractors. The weak engine can also be recognized by the fact that the first models took 65 seconds to accelerate the truck to 60 km / h. The driver's cab is only designed for local traffic and has three seats.

Visually, the MAZ-5433 is very easy to confuse with the MAZ-5434 .

MAZ-543302: Revised variant with 230 PS, JaMZ V6 turbo diesel engine ( JaMZ-236NE2 ) and five-speed automatic transmission, is still in production, meets the Euro 2 emissions standard

MAZ-5433A2: variant with JaMZ-6563.10 V6 diesel engine, is currently still being built, meets the Euro 3 emissions standard. Often used with a lightweight MAZ-93802 trailer.

In addition, vehicles were equipped for operation at temperatures as low as −60 ° C. These were provided with the Cyrillic letters ХЛ behind the model names (for Russian холодно , "cold").
